Velocity Ventures - Thunder Valley Short Track

We are excited to bring a new event to the Colorado Front Range. The Thunder Valley Short Track Series starts this coming June. We will be hosting 3 short track races at the Thunder Valley moto track on C470/I70 area. Races will be on weeknights nights. As you can expect, you will be treated to an amazing race scene, exciting atmosphere, professional timing, super fun terrain, a volunteer group that is second to none, and of course, support from our sponsors. This is seriously a good time for the whole family and a great way to spend a summer evening.

This USA Cycling sanctioned event will help provide upgrade points towards your upgrade points, and call up at national-level events.

Race Schedule:

4:15 – Kids Fun Race – age 6-10 (10 min, non-competitive, no USAC membership required)

4:30 – Junior Girls – age 11-14 (15 min)

4:50 – Junior Boys – age 11-14 (15 min)

5:10 – Men’s C (20 min): Collegiate C, Soph/Fresh

5:40 – Men’s B (20 min): Collegiate B, JV

6:05 – Women’s B (20 min): Collegiate B, Soph/Fresh

6:30 – Women’s A (20 min): Open, Collegiate A, Varsity, JV

7:00 – Men’s A (20 min): Open, Collegiate A, Varsity

Registration Opens April 6th!

Early-bird pricing ends at 10:00 PM the Monday before the race. A $10 fee will be added for all registrants after that time. Online Registration Only. Race age is based on age as of 12/31/2026. Three-race series pack to be offered In limited quanities; pricing to be shared shortly.

Adults – $35
Juniors (11-18) – $25
Juniors (10 and under) – FREE

Course: The course and length will vary each week, but plan on distance to be around 0.6M – 1.0. TVST goes in and around the moto-track. We will not use the main parts of the track as it’s a bit too much for MTB. But we will use as much as we can to make it a unique experience.

Equipment: All bikes are legal for the race, with the exception of E-bikes. We can’t overstate the importance of your bike running in top condition on the day of the race. Like you, it will be challenged. And, it’s your friend. Help a friend out.

Spectating: There are many ways to view this event. Please consider routes that don’t interfere with riders as you make your way to a spectating spot. A map will be provided as we get closer to race day.

Number Plates: All Racers will be issued a chipped number plate. Treat it well.

Timing/Awards: We work to get results and awards as quickly as possible.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Velocity Ventures does not offer refunds. If we are forced to cancel PRIOR to race day, a transfer to another TVST race will be offered. If we are forced to cancel DURING race day due to inclement weather, we will be unable to offer a refund. If you would like to transfer your entry to another rider prior to race day, no problem. Just drop us a line and we will issue a voucher for the new participant. No charge for transfers. If you need to defer, we will happily issue a voucher credit for a Rattler event in the next 12 months. This will incur a $10 fee. Deferral requests will not be accepted 2 days prior to race day or anytime there-after. Thank you for understanding this policy!

From C-470, get off at the Alameda Exit and head west to Rooney Road. Thunder Valley Park is about 1 mile to the north. Plenty of parking!
